Growing Together in ChristAdult MinistryThere are many ways that adults can participate in the life of Oak Tree. We believe that spiritual nurturing is the best way for people to be 'strong enough' to share their gifts and talents in service.SoulFeastThis monthly small group explores various aspects of our spirituality and helps to strengthen our personal relationship with God. Vehicles include books, DVD series and various forms of prayer. This group meets evenings in comfortable home settings. Please join us!WOW (Word on Wednesday) - Weekly Bible Study for Every Day LifeWhat is God saying to you about your life? Where is God leading you? We will welcome you with open arms!Knit One, Pray Too!The Oak Tree Women's Association invites you to participate in this enriching new ministry. ChoirCome one, Come all! Our adult choir meets every Wednesday at 7:45pm at the church. No experience necessary. Here's a chance to worship God through music.Youth/Children's MinistriesOur young people are an intricate part of the Oak Tree family. There is a children's sermon each Sunday and an intergenerational "family-friendly" worship service on the 4th Sunday of every month.Youth MinistryServing in WorshipOlder youth share their gifts during worship as lay readers, actors and musicians. Confirmation 8th graders participate in a yearlong confirmation program. During this time, these communicants are involved in mission, as well as learning about what it means to be a Presbyterian and enhancing their own spiritual journey. Summer Camp Our youth have attended retreats at Camp Johnsonburg during the fall and winter, and many of our children and teens attend summer camp there, as well. Johnsonburg is a favorite place for our young people. Children's Ministry
Sunday SchoolThe 'Rotational Model' has been implemented in our Sunday school for children (ages Pre-K through 6th grade). This model encourages members of the congregation, who do not consider themselves 'teachers', to impart the word of God through their 'gifts'. The children may enjoy a feast from Biblical times, learn how to quilt, make a banner for the church sanctuary, find Biblical references on the computer or participate in skits and dances. This interactive method makes learning fun for both student and teacher! YMFF (Youth Mission and Fun on Fridays!) This "pre-youth group" meets once a month and is open to all in grades 3-6. Combining a mission activity with food and games makes for a fun-filled time for all! |
