Groups in the Church

Choir - Meets each Wednesday at 7:45 pm for weekly choir anthem and special projects. Choir Director: Florence Simons.

Building and Grounds - Meets the first Monday of each month at 7:30 pm at the Edison Family Restaurant to discuss matters relating to our church property.

Stewarding & Finance - Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm to oversee the church's financial matters. Plans the annual Stewardship Drive each Fall.

Outreach and Mission - Meets periodically to plan and organize the church's advertising and publicity. Strategizes ways that the congregation can reach out to its community. Distributes budgeted mission money and informs church of Presbyterian mission activity.

Worship and Music - Meets the first Monday of each month at 7:30 pm. Oversees worship and music life of the church. Plans special seasonal worship. Provides for weekly flowers and ushers. Organizes annual Communion Breakfast the first Sunday in Lent.

Christian Education - Meets the first Monday of each month at 7:30 pm, to oversee all matters related to the church's educational program for children, youth and adults. Plans annual all church Christmas Funfest each December.

Personnel - Meets as needed to deal with matters related to hiring, salaries and performance of all church employees.

Membership - Meets the first Monday of each month at 7:30pm. Organizes periodic church functions, monitors worship attendance, new member assimilation. Oversees Men's and Women's Associations.

Board of Deacons - Composed of nine people. Members elected annually for three-year terms. Meets the second Sunday of every month after worship. Oversees prayer lists and numerous programs for members in special need. Prepares communion each month. Leads monthly afternoon worship service in local nursing home. Works with the FISH Homeless Program.

The Session (Church Board) - Composed of nine people. Also elected annually for three-year terms. Meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. Oversees and sets policy for the life of the church. Moderated by the pastor.

Men's Association - Meets the second Sunday of every month at 8:00 am at a local restaurant for food and fellowship. Organizes periodic outings and projects.

Women's Association - Meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30. Plans service projects, organizes annual Trash and Treasure sale. Also meets the first Friday of every month to sort clothes for the FISH homeless program.

Soul Feast Group - This small group meets the fourth Monday of every month at 7:30 pm in different member homes for refreshments, fellowship and discussion on the Bible or a Spiritual Discipline. Usually led by the pastor.
